Both products now act
Komodor has become an agentic operations platform. Its AI SRE, Klaudia, correlates events, logs and change history across clusters through more than 50 specialist agents. It no longer only recommends.
Klaudia now acts in four ways.
- One-click actions restart, scale or roll back workloads and edit limits, probes and images
- Self-healing policies run approved actions on their own
- Fix pull requests, in beta, go to your repositories for a person to merge
- Klaudia Memory learns from your team’s resolutions
The difference with Ankra is where each product sits. Komodor works on top of the clusters and delivery tools you already have. Ankra is the platform that creates the clusters and delivers what runs on them, so its AI acts through the same system.
Owning the delivery path
Komodor has no delivery engine of its own. It connects to Argo CD to sync and roll back, shows add-ons such as cert-manager and External DNS, and opens pull requests in your repositories. Building the cluster, assembling the add-ons and shipping your code happen in other tools.
Ankra builds that path into the product.
- it builds kubeadm or k3s clusters on Hetzner, OVHcloud, UpCloud, DigitalOcean, AWS EC2 and Proxmox VE, and creates EKS, GKE, AKS and three more provider services
- stacks install Helm add-ons and manifests in dependency order, and stack profiles carry them across environments
- Applications and Ankra Pipelines build, test and scan your code in your cluster and publish only the image that passed the gate
- backups, upgrades and node autoscaling run from the same place
Because Ankra installed the add-on, it knows its chart version, its values and every stack that depends on it. A fix lands as a change to that stack, which a person approves, and with a Git repository connected it is committed to your repository.
How each AI handles an incident
Komodor’s remediation has careful guardrails. One-click actions show the exact command first and respect your access rules. Admins set self-healing policies per cluster or namespace with an allow-list of actions, and every action is audited. Komodor’s June 2026 overview labels self-healing and fix pull requests as beta. Klaudia also works in Slack and through an MCP server, both in beta.
Ankra’s AI Insights analyses each firing alert and scheduled health scans, and proposes a root cause and a fix. The AI reads logs, events, manifests, stack history, Git and pipeline runs. Every write waits for a person by default. Autonomy controls let you allow more, including alert remediation rules that run automatically, and pause or stop the AI at any time. Resolved issues record a health snapshot for a before-and-after comparison, and analyses your team rates helpful are reused on similar issues.
Ankra’s AI also works before production. It reviews pull requests through the AI Gateway in GitHub, Slack and Teams, investigates failed builds and opens fix pull requests on GitHub. It can draft a new stack from a description, and the AI board runs tickets with peer review and human approval.
Cost and security
Komodor’s cost work applies itself. It right-sizes workloads and places pods to free whole nodes. If automatic workload right-sizing is the goal, Komodor is ahead.
Ankra’s Cloud Cost estimates spend per namespace and stack, reprices a cluster on other providers and tracks budgets. Its Security Center ranks running-workload vulnerabilities by CISA’s Known Exploited Vulnerabilities catalogue and FIRST’s EPSS scores, with SBOMs and compliance evidence.
When to choose Ankra, and when to choose Komodor
Choose Ankra when you want one product to create the clusters, ship your applications and add-ons, and operate them, with an AI that works through the same platform.
Choose Komodor when
- you already run a delivery platform you are happy with and want an AI operations layer on top
- you want automatic remediation and workload right-sizing across a large existing estate
- you want to build and govern your own operations agents on a vendor backbone
Compare the work that remains
- Create the foundation. Record which tools create clusters and install add-ons.
- Ship a release. Include tests, scans, a preview and a rollback.
- Handle an incident. Note who finds the cause, who applies the fix and whether it reaches Git.
- Upgrade an add-on. Note how dependencies are checked and how a failed upgrade is undone.
- Compare total cost. Include every tool in the path, AI usage and the people who connect them.
Komodor’s pricing is custom. Ankra’s pricing follows managed worker vCPU, with the first 30 vCPU free and a monthly AI allowance on every plan.
